Valiyaparamba backwaters, located at a distance of 7.3kms from HOTELJUJUINTERANTIONAL is perhaps the most scenic backwater stretch in Kerala. Fed by four rivers and dotted with numerous little islands, Valiyaparamba is fast turning into a much favoured backwater resort that offers enchanting boat cruises. Valiyaparamba,a hinterland separated from the mainland, is a noted fishing centre in the district and is just an hour's drive from Bekal - one of the most enchanting beaches of Kerala. The Bekal fort which stands on a headland that runs into the sea offers a spectacular view of the surroundings.


The Rajarajeshawara temple, located at a distance of 20.4kms from HOTELJUJUINTERANTIONAL, is one of the important Shiva temples of the region. The massive boundary walls and the two-tiered pyramidal roof capture your attention the instant you reach the temple premises. A unique feature of the temple, believed to have been built by the Mooshika king, Sapasoman, is the absence of a flagstaff. It is also believed that after eight in the evening, Lord Shiva is present in the temple along with Goddess Parvathy and that during this time, they will grant the wishes of women devotees. Hence, women are allowed to enter the temple only after eight pm.


The 300-year-old Bekal Fort, located at a distance of 41.8kms from HOTELJUJUINTERANTIONAL shaped like a giant key-hole, is one of the largest and best-preserved forts in Kerala. Surrounded by a splendid beach, the historic Bekal Fort offers a superb view of the Arabian Sea from its tall observation towers, where a few centuries ago huge cannons used to be placed. Today, the Bekal Fort and its surroundings - there are backwaters and hill destinations and water sport facilities nearby - is a favourite shooting locale for film-makers.
